Young Children's Story Competition Results 2018

Congratulations to the winner Cody Southern, with our two runners up being Imogen Teare and Edith Clarke. There were also seven Highly Commended stories. All 10 winners received Waterstones book tokens, with their winning stories being displayed in the children’s section of Yeovil Waterstones.

The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Sun-Mi Hwang. Everything that is good about the world is encapsulated in this gem of a novel.


The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness. George finds a great white bird in his London back garden with an arrow in its wing. He also meets Kumiko. You’ll love this book. It’s highly recommended.
