Congratulations to the winner Cody Southern, with our two runners up being Imogen Teare and Edith Clarke. There were also seven Highly Commended stories. All 10 winners received Waterstones book tokens, with their winning stories being displayed in the children’s section of Yeovil Waterstones.
Congratulations to the winners in the four categories! Full details and report here: Yeovil Literary Prize 2018 Results.
The third Yeovil Literary Festival will be five days of literary events to
suit all tastes and ages. See some brilliant speakers in four venues. This
year we have the Octagon Theatre, with a Waterstones' bookshop, The Manor
Hotel, Brimsmore Garden Centre and Yeovil Library hosting events.
The opening event will be the YCAA Literary Dinner with guest speaker Lesley
Pearse. Enjoy a champagne reception at 7pm, followed by a three course
dinner with coffee at The Manor Hotel. Tickets are £25 each, obtainable
from the Octagon Theatre Box Office.
On Friday 30 October at 10.30am you can meet and listen to some past winners
of the Yeovil Literary Prize. This year we will have the 2015 winners of
the novel and short story categories reading. Also, meet David Young, who
came third last year and hear about the success of his novel Stasi Child.
Catch up with Sophie Duffy, a previous winner who has recently launched her
third novel. This is always a super event and we look forward to welcoming
you to the Johnson Studio at the Octagon Theatre.
The Programme and tickets are now available. The Octagon box office on 01935
422884 will be where to buy. On-line see www.octagon-theatre.co.uk. Or, for
an evening with Chris Beardshaw, award winning garden designer, tickets are
available at the box office as well as at Brimsmore, Castle Gardens and
Poundbury garden centres.
